Jaeya "Jaeya Bionic" Bayani is a Bay-Area-based Filipina singer-songwriter, Hip-Hop/Funk practitioner, and music publishing/operations management professional. She's a Columbia College Chicago c/o 2024 summa cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business: Recorded Music and Publishing and a Double-Minor in Hip-Hop Studies and Pre-Law Studies. She’s a GrammyU and BMI member, as well as the recipient of the CCC Parker Lee Williams Award for Hip-Hop Excellence and Garee Lee Smith Scholarship, respectively. She’s established a nearly seven-year career in the music industry dedicated to championing AAPI and Fil-Am creatives through her roles as an Operations Assistant at for Christina Luna (Traverse Music Group & Zion Agency) and Creative Operations Coordinator for Supervillain. She recently transitioned into a Operations & Legal Affairs Associate role for Christina, after rigorous and rewarding terms at both Supervillain and Thizzler On The Roof.

Jaeya combined her events, marketing, and talent management expertise to co-produce her first Fil-Am event, Kapwa Chicago Vol. I, at the Rizal Center on April 27th, 2024. Her freshman Bayani EP was released in June 2023 and has led the lineup for Bay Area, Chicago, + ATX shows. She later secured her first sync deal for the project in the No Room For Love film by Malou and Randal Kamradt, while simultaneously cohosting the Movement, Body, & Soul podcast. Jaeya's recent career highlights include performing at the Top of the Hill Festival (Oct. '25), All The Way Live Foundation (Oct. '25), Outside Lands Monster Activation (Aug. '25), The Office Hours Studio (Apr. '25), and Rock the School Bells (Apr. '25).

Jaeya is a Hip-Hop and West Coast Funk practitioner who has studied elements of the culture in the Bay Area in Chicago that include popping, tutting, boogaloo, spoken word rap, and community-based systems for sharing knowledge. As a singer-songwriter, rapper, and dancer, her musical inspirations range from Stevie Wonder, Musiq Soulchild, and 9th Wonder, to Ruby Ibarra, Bambu, and Rocky Rivera. Her ultimate goal is to pursue her J.D. at USF with a focus in copyright, trademark, and contract law, and utilize this education to serve AAPI and BIPOC artists who lack adequate legal representation and resources. Jaeya's upcoming BAYANI album is set for release in 2026 and she will begin her law school career at University of San Francisco School of Law as a Provost Scholar this Fall.

LABEL: Independent

GENRE: R&B / Rap / Hip-Hop

WHEREABOUTS: Oakland & Fremont, CA + Chicago, IL

Ever since she was a baby, she's had a knack for memorizing lyrics from artists like Alicia Keys and Ruben Studdard. Her musical style encapsulates her passion for R&B, funk, jazz, soul, and underground, militant rap. Jaeya's foremost inspirations in Hip-Hop are Filipina emcees and spoken word artists, i.e. Ruby Ibarra, Klassy, Faith Santilla, and Rocky Rivera. She's equally influenced by the sounds of Bambu, Geologic, G Yamazawa, and the Hieroglyphics. Although her aspirations are to follow a law career in the music industry and serve underrepresented artists---music for the sake of making music is, and will always be Jaeya's primary passion. Her core belief is in uplifting and collaborating with fellow BIPOC creatives in all of her endeavors, which is fueled by her love for community and for her ancestors. To reference the definition of "Bayani," Jaeya aims to be a "warrior" for her people---who, to her, are the real "hero(es)."
